Gessica Sakamoto Martini (she/her) is a writer, poet, and editor from and currently based in Italy. She holds a PhD in Anthropology from Durham University (UK). Her poems and short stories have appeared in several publications, including HAD, DMQ Review, Verse Daily, Hex Literary, Ballast Journal, Unbroken Journal, Crab Apple Literary, Red Ogre Review, Gone Lawn, FlashFlood (National Flash Fiction Day), Shoreline of Infinity, Seize The Press Magazine, and others.

She currently serves as Fiction Editor of Orion’s Belt magazine, a journal of literary science fiction and fantasy, and will be taking on the role of Editor-in-Chief in 2026.
